Happy Friday everyone! During the Artiste in August Blog Hop, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are “artist choice” days, so we all get to choose an Artiste project to feature. If you have arrived here from Jessica Wilson’s page you are on the right track. If not, just keep hopping on to the next blog and you will still complete the circle. You will find the complete Blog Hop list at the end of this post just in case you get lost along the way.
Today I wanted to try one of the many card shapes on the Artiste cartridge. This one is found on page 55 of the handbook.
I cut the card in sweet leaf cardstock at 5”and one of the Dotty For You papers at 4.5” and trimmed off the front and back of the B&T paper to adhere to the cardstock base. The happy birthday banner is a cut on Artiste and a stamp from one of the coordinating stamp sets included in the Artiste collection. I sponged ink on the edges and used the blending pen with my sweet leaf ink pad to highlight the banner ribbon. Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel adds a bit of sparkle. Inside this card is a pocket for a gift card…..how awesome is that?!! My adult children love to receive gift cards for birthdays etc. I’ve always thought gift cards to be a bit impersonal and feel kind of guilty giving them. Now I can make it a much more personal gift by making a beautiful presentation card and we can all be happy
I colored the Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon with lagoon and sweet leaf ink. I love that I can always have the perfect color ribbon for any project. The sentiment is from the retired Paper Lantern stamp set.
Thanks for visiting today, now head on over to Amy Edwards blog to see what she decided to show you today.
Happy Crafting!
